 Alta Children's Center Summer Camp |
The Alta Summer Camp embraces the process of having a positive impact on children's relationships with nature. This summer, we invite adventurers age 6 thru 12 years old to spend a week with us doing hands-on science and nature-based activities, as well as partaking in experiential learning on the ecology of the Cottonwood Canyons! Through this one week experience, we hope to foster a harmonious relationship between children and the beautiful place we call home.

Superheroes. Evil villains. Doomsday machines. The fate of the universe rests in your hands and how you decide to draw it. This exciting course teaches the traditional illustration mediums and professional process comic creators use. We'll discuss techniques for developing characters and story as well. Please come to the first class with a concept in mind. By the end of this week you will have a fully finished inked page to start your comic story!

Visual Art Institute’s figure academy is an intensive 2-to-4-week figure workshop experience for Jr. High and Sr. High age students. Students will study figure drawing in the morning and figure painting in the afternoon. Daily in-depth critiques help students engage in each other’s work and give students personal direction for successive studies.

Want to learn to skateboard? Come shred with us at skate camp this summer! These camps focus on creating a stoked-filled environment where we facilitate individual growth through group lessons. Campers will set goals, learn tricks, gain confidence, and make new friends! Our team of skate coaches are experienced, knowledgeable, friendly, and work with campers of any skill level.

NHMU Kindergarten camps are designed for children who will enter Kindergarten in the fall of 2024 and who are completely potty trained. All sessions are offered half-day (AM or PM); most are Monday – Thursday format. We have 2 short weeks that run Monday – Wednesday. Note that AM and PM sessions are identical in content and so full day registration is not permitted. Your camper will need to bring a snack and a water bottle each day. Please note that not all school districts begin and end summer break at the same time—check your school schedule before registering.

Encourage campers to engage in unstructured, imaginative play, allowing them to connect with nature in a fun and creative way.
