Intro to AP Computer Science (Age 14-17)

Get a head start on the basics of the "Big 5" in preparation for your first Computer Science course! Topics covered will be the creative and iterative process with design, algorithm development, and data/network implementation. Fundamental coding ideas and concepts will be covered with a focus on Java. A personal laptop is required for this workshop. Co-sponsored with Higher Ground Learning.

Learning Outcomes:
- Learn the foundations of algorithm development
- Study how creativity and elegance relates to coding
- Develop logic and critical thinking skills
Students must bring a personal laptop to class each day. This camp is designed for those who will be taking AP Computer Science A, but may briefly address some topics from AP Computer Science Principles. Students must have a solid foundation in high school algebra as a prerequisite. Camp held at Higher Ground Learning, 380 West Pierpont Avenue, Salt Lake City, UT 84101.
