What do rocket ships and slime have in common? They were both created using science! Make inquiries and investigate how science helps us advance in this exciting, safe, and often messy camp! Think you have what it takes to be a mad scientist?

Students will receive intensive instruction from theatre industry professionals in acting, voice, and dance while rehearsing a full-blown production of Disney’s Descendants, the lively new stage musical based on the beloved Disney Channel film!

NHMU second and third grade camp sessions are for students who will enter either of these grades in the fall of 2024. Most sessions are offered in a full-day, Monday-Thursday format with no camp on Friday. There are two 3-day weeks (M-W). We'll have a morning and an afternoon snack break, along with a midday lunch break. Two substantial snacks, a non-refrigerated lunch, and a water bottle will need to be brought from home each day. Camp sessions of the same name are the exact same camp, just offered at a different time so please don’t register for both. Camper drop-off and pick-up take place at NHMU, unless otherwise noted. Please note that not all school districts begin and end summer break at the same time—check your school schedule before registering.

We've elevated our partnership with Salt Lake Arts Academy this summer to offer a summer of full-day & half-day programs plus pre/after care for kids 8+. Activities include swimming, skating, biking, as well as our signature half-day Adventures and full-day Journeys programs. in all of our programs, we let the kids have a voice to guide the experience. Grateful Gathering Adventure and Play Camps are back for their THIRD year and we couldn't be more excited! Come explore the universe and become an Astronomer for a week! Go deep learning about galaxies, stars, dark matter, black holes and more! This camp will help shed some light on the so-called darkness of the universe and delve into the physics of these objects. You'll attend personal lectures from U of U astronomers and demos to help demonstrate the physical properties of objects we can only see through a telescope.

Spend the week taking an in-depth look at F/stops, shutter speed, ISO, and other digital camera functions and how to use them to your advantage. You will also learn composition, elements of design, lighting, and rule of thirds; so you can spend more time making great images and less time fixing them. But, that is not at all, try some experimental techniques along your digital photography journey.

If you plan to take AP Physics 1, 2, or IB physics next year, this workshop is for you! This class will mostly cover Newtonian mechanics, including, but not limited to: kinematics, Newton's laws of motion, work, energy, and power. This intensive two-week test prep course focuses on the new digital SAT exam, providing a thorough review of the core content while also emphasizing strategies that help students diagnose and solve test questions successfully. All students will receive the Higher Ground Test Preparation Manual, 12 hours of instruction, 2 practice tests to assess performance level, assessment reports, and supplemental materials. You will need access to a laptop on exam days.

The Alta Summer Camp embraces the process of having a positive impact on children's relationships with nature. Participants will dissect preserved marine specimens, explore density and buoyancy through engineering and testing, use standard and digital microscopes, and much more!

Attention! Builders wanted! Get ready to unleash your electric side in this hands-on camp about engineering designs. Design and build different models using various types of electronics and contraptions. Experiment with LEDs, potentiometers, photoelectric, multiple sensors, infrared, connectors, tilts, motors all compatible with Lego block designs! You will enjoy building and experimenting with windmills, energy saver lights, impact drills, Tilt-sensor lifter, walking insects, and more.
