Kindred Spirits Integrated Art is a community based non-profit inclusive fine arts program under Art Access/ VSA Utah. The progrm has been designed for children of all abilities and their parents and/or other adult partners. In the KS studio everyone learns about art and each other. The work accomplished is shared throughout the community in galleries, coffee houses, libraries, banks and numerous other community settings, eliminating stigmas while bringing acceptance, opportunity, awareness and respect to people of all abilities.
Children without disabilities work side by side those with special needs and each is accompanied by an adult apprentice. Together everyone learns valuable lessons about art and life. Sessions are followed by public receptions and/or performances where visitors meet the artists and experience their exceptional work. Through quality arts learning, KS participants of all abilities uncover their unique strengths, reveal their private voices and expand their knowledge of themselves and each other.
