2018 List of Memorial Day Events in the Greater Salt Lake City Area

Whether you're camping, visiting a loved one's gravesite, or attending a community event, Memorial Weekend is a time for family. Across the nation, Memorial Day is also celebrated with much patriotism. It's a perfect time to teach our children about family and national history.

Mapleton City- (unverified 2018)Mapleton City will be holding its annual Flag Raising Ceremony on Memorial Day at 9am. This will be held at the Mapleton City Park (corner of Main and Maple Street). To ensure a seat for the service, those attending may want to bring a lawn chair. A pancake breakfast will take place in the pavilion after the ceremony. We encourage families to bring your children to this special occasion and help them understand the value of freedom and the sacrifices made to keep our country free.


Salt Lake City(unverified 2018)Fort Douglas Memorial Day Ceremony • Fort Douglas Cemetery, 375 Chipeta Way; a Memorial Day Ceremony will commence at 0930 hours at the Ft. Douglas Military Cemetery in Salt Lake City. The event will commence with a march (optional) from the Ft. Douglas Military Museum to the Cemetery. The ceremony will consist of special remarks, music, wreath laying, gun salute and Taps. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. The Utah Chapter of AUSA is pleased to assume the organizational responsibility for the Memorial Day Ceremony.
