BalletNext is a dance-driven platform that creates dynamic international collaborations between world-class artists, emerging talent, and renowned institutions. Michele Wiles—former principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre and one of New York's most acclaimed dancers—founded the company in 2011 with a vision to produce boundary-crossing performance projects and one-of-a-kind, immersive training opportunities for promising young talent. Created in New York, BalletNEXT is now located in the stunning mountain landscape of Park City, Utah. Michele Wiles founded BalletNEXT in 2011 in an effort to pair classically trained dancers and live musicians in a collaborative setting that encourages risk-taking with a focus on process.
BalletNext has a history of blending exceptional, unseasoned talent with some of the world’s most respected dancers. Launched in 2017, our NextGeneration development program is for promising young dancers interested in experiencing boundary-breaking exposure, improving their core technique, and performance opportunities. “So many dancers go from graduation to intern or corps without experiencing multiple approaches and aesthetics,” said Michele Wiles, Artistic Director. “They need a place to explore and develop their own style and personal potential. Young dancers can easily miss the very things that bring them a deeper artistic joy and fulfillment over the long term.” NextGeneration is about so much more than technique! The curriculum provides personal instruction, involvement with professional BalletNext activities, and live performance experience.
