Adventures in Science 
Partner Camp with Camp Kostopulos
Join us for a week of camp adventures! Morning activities at Camp K will include hiking, rock climbing, fishing, swimming, horseback riding, field games, and ropes courses. Afternoons will be spent with Museum educators, exploring a range of science topics from chemistry and physics to earth science and biology. Drop camper off at Camp Kostopulos by 8:30am and pick up at NHMU by 4:30pm.Transportation between sites is provided.

Science Adventure Class: Don’t Try This at Home
Join us as we investigate the properties of viscous goo, including slime and quicksand. Explore gases, solids, heat and sound through experiments and projects. Your parents will be so glad you didn’t try these experiments at home!

Science Adventure Class: Paleo Kids
Delve into the science of paleontology from the field to the lab. Discover how fossils are formed, where we find them, and meet some of the people who prepare and study fossils at the Museum.

The Ultimate Camp Experience
Partner Camp with This is the Place, Camp Kostopulos, Red Butte Garden, and Utah's Hogle Zoo
If you can only attend one camp this summer, make it this one! Join us for a week of signature camp activities where each day finds campers at a different location with new experiences. While at Camp Kostopulos students will enjoy ropes courses, horseback riding, rock climbing, and fishing. At This is the Place we’ll investigate Utah's past pioneer history through train rides, panning for gold, and pioneer activities. Discover and meet some of the animals that call Utah’s Hogle Zoo home. At Red Butte Garden enjoy a plethora of garden adventures from plants to insects. And while at the Natural History Museum of Utah, participate in a range of science topics from chemistry and physics to earth science and biology. One week has never been so exciting! Chose from one session below. Each session indicates where a camper is to be dropped off and picked up each day.

Nature Explorers 
Partner Camp with Red Butte Garden
Join us for a week of nature explorations! Campers will spend mornings at Red Butte Garden exploring the natural area and formal gardens as they learn the basics of botany and plant science. In the afternoon, campers will travel to NHMU to investigate the animals and insects that call Utah home through excursions in the foothills around the Museum. Campers will also explore water and soil science through hands-on projects and experiments. Drop camper off at Red Butte Garden by 9:00am and pick up at UMNH by 4:30pm. Campers will walk between sites.

Science Adventure Class: Gross-ology Basics
Sometimes it's stinky. Sometimes it's crusty. And sometimes it's slimy. Join us as we explore all things gross from edible skin, egg eruptions and fake snot to owl pellets, body mites and chocolate covered insects. It’s GROSS and you’ll LOVE IT!

Dinosaurs Past and Present
Partner Camp with Tracy Aviary
Start your mornings at Tracy Aviary, exploring the dinosaurs that live among us today—birds! Find out what makes a bird a bird and discover the amazing adaptations that allow them to live in diverse environments across the globe. At the Natural History Museum of Utah each afternoon, we’ll delve into the science of paleontology. Discover how fossils are formed, where we find them, and meet some of the people who prepare and study fossils at the Museum. Drop camper off at Tracy Aviary by 8:30am and pick up at UMNH by 4:30pm. Transportation between sites is provided.

Full STEAM Ahead
Partner Camp with Zaniac
Join us for a week of amazing hands-on science that focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Each morning at Zaniac, campers will explore tinkering with littleBits, Game-Based Learning with Minecraft, Zaniac Robotics using LEGO systems, and will also program custom animations in MIT’s Scratch. While at the Museum each afternoon, students will spend time exploring several science topics from physics and chemistry to geology and biology. We’ll create projects like LED light sabers, erupt geysers and volcanoes, build bridges, and connect art with science—all while working with Museum specimens and exploring collection areas.

Climbing Geology
Partner Camp with Splore
Spend your week uncovering the fascinating world of geology mixed with the adventure of rock climbing. Each morning, campers will work staff from Splore, learning the basics of rock climbing including safety, equipment, problem solving, and team building. We’ll be climbing in Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons as well as indoors at Momentum Gym. While at the Museum each afternoon, campers will identify and classify rocks, minerals, and crystals; investigate the rock cycle; discover how mountains, canyons and caves are formed; and visit the Geology Department and seismology lab on campus. All equipment is provided and no experience necessary! Drop off and pick up take place at NHMU. Transportation to field trip sites is provided.

Nature in Motion
Partner Camp with Tanner Dance
Here’s a camp that will keep your mind and body moving. Each morning while at Tanner Dance, campers will create movement and patterns inspired by the natural world. The movement patterns created will inspire visual art, music, and creative writing. Afternoons will be spent at the Museum investigating the birds, plants, animals and processes that surround us through hands-on experiments. Drop camper off at Tanner Dance by 8:30am and pick up at NHMU by 4:30pm. Parents are invited to join us for a performance on Friday afternoon at the Museum. Transportation between sites is provided.

LEGO® Engineering 
Partner Camp with Play-Well TEKnologies at the Clark Planetarium
Join us for a week of engineering bliss! Spend your mornings at the Clark Planetarium with Play-Well staff inventing, designing, and building with over 100,000 pieces of LEGO®! Apply concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture as you create bridges, motorized gondolas and the Battletrack. Spend your afternoons at the Museum exploring engineering and architecture from the ground up. You’ll investigate the amazing structures that animals create, explore and build simple machines, and examine how the Museum’s building was designed and constructed. Drop camper off at the Clark Planetarium by 8:30am and pick up at NHMU by 4:30pm. Transportation between sites is provided.

Native Voices
Partner Camp with Bad Dog Arts
Spend four days exploring the rich histories and vibrant contemporary cultures of Utah’s indigenous peoples. Each morning while at Bad Dog Arts, students will explore and create artwork inspired by our state’s natural beauty, wonderful wildlife, and first inhabitants. Every afternoon at NHMU, campers will experience the important role of storytelling, music, dance, and symbolism in passing culture through the generations. Plus, meet some of the people carrying these traditions forward in new and exciting ways. Drop camper off at Bad Dog Arts by 8:30am and pick up at NHMU by 4:30pm. Transportation between sites is provided.

Planetary Detectives
Partner Camp with Clark Planetarium
Journey through the galaxy and explore the mysteries of our Solar System. While at the Clark Planetarium each morning, campers will learn about the planets, stars and constellations while enjoying other spaced-out projects and activities. Each afternoon at NHMU, campers will investigate the powerful processes that sculpt our Earth from weathering to the water cycle. We’ll explore rocks and minerals, create volcanoes and earthquakes, and meet some of the astronomers working at the University of Utah. Drop camper off at the Clark Planetarium by 8:30am and pick up at NHMU by 4:30pm. Transportation between sites is provided.

Engineering IS for Girls
Partner Camp with Play-Well TEKnologies
Explore engineering from the ground up! Mornings will be spent working with teammates and Play-Well staff to complete LEGO®-based challenges like arch bridges, skyscrapers, and amusement parks—will your creations stand up to our tests? Afternoons will be spent with Museum educators creating art-based engineering challenges that utilize a variety of shapes, textures and materials. Camper drop off and pick up takes place at NHMU.
