Guided by extensive public input and community engagement, the new Sandy Recreation Center will reflect shared values of active living and community connection. Residents have expressed strong support for a modern, energy-efficient facility that continues the legacy of recreation in Sandy.
The new center will be built on the existing Alta Canyon site, preserving cherished elements like the beloved outdoor pool while replacing the outdated building with a vibrant, state-of-the-art facility designed to serve the community for the next 40 years.
For more than four decades, our community center has been the heart of gatherings, celebrations, learning, and laughter. It has been a place where friendships grew, neighbors connected, and memories were made.
As we close our doors to begin the exciting journey of rebuilding, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to every person who has walked through these doors and made this place feel like home.
While we’ll miss the daily moments we share here, we know this is not goodbye—it’s the start of a new chapter. We look forward to welcoming you back in early 2027 to a modern, reimagined community center that will continue the tradition of connection, growth, and joy for generations to come.
