Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum (DGCM) is partnering with Intermountain Therapy Animals to provide a monthly program, starting June 26th, to “paw-sitively” help children improve literacy skills by offering time for children to read to well trained, registered and insured therapy dogs.
The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D) Program improves children’s reading and communication skills by employing a powerful method: reading to a furry friend. R.E.A.D is the first and foremost program that utilizes therapy animals to help kids not only improve their abilities but inspires new confidence and a life-long love for reading.
Children will be able to sign up for this monthly reading program which will be held every last Saturday of the month starting June 26th.
