Family & Education Appreciation
Tuesday, July 20

Ogden Pioneer Days is ready to light up the summer sky with the first performance of the year. Join us at Ogden Pioneer Stadium for an annual event of family fun. We will also honor our dedicated education professionals who did so much to educate our youth during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hats off to these wonderful educators—we couldn’t have done it without you! And be sure you don’t wait until the last minute to buy your tickets! The historic Ogden Pioneer Stadium, the home of Ogden Pioneer Days since the 1930s, sells out on high-demand nights.

National Day of the Cowboy & First Responders Appreciation Night
Wednesday, July 21

Each July, on the National Day of the American Cowboy, cowboys and cowgirls from across the United States are honored for their contributions to promoting and preserving the cowboy way of life. Ogden Pioneer Days continues that tradition by honoring Utahns from every county who, day by day, honor their western heritages. The honorees are invited into the arena at the start of the rodeo and applauded by the thousands who are at Ogden Pioneer Stadium, judged as one of the top five large outdoor rodeos in the PRCA. This year will be extra special as we also kick up our heels for our courageous, hard-working, healthcare professionals. These brave souls helped to carry our country through the heart-wrenching impact on our society during the COVID-19 pandemic. And while we pay forward our deepest gratitude, let’s be sure to remember those whose lives were lost during this most challenging time.

Patriot & Military Appreciation
Thursday, July 22

America is the land of the free—because of the brave. Carried atop a racing steed in the middle of Ogden Pioneer Stadium, the American flag ripples like so many ribbons in the wind as Ogden Pioneer Days celebrates the freedoms and rights guaranteed in the United States Constitution and protected by the U.S. Armed Forces. Current members of the military, as well as veterans, are honored for their service and dedication to the ideals we hold dear. Wear your red, white and blue, and be sure to tip our hats in salute to the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and National Guard.

Tough Enough to Wear Pink
Friday, July 23

Many of life’s milestones are considered happy occasions. Graduation, marriages and births make up just a few. Yet, for too many women, those joyful experiences are darkened – even cut short – by breast cancer. Ogden Pioneer Days traditionally sets aside one night of the rodeo to ask this important question: Are you tough enough to wear pink? Cowboys, cowgirls and everyone at the rodeo are encouraged to don the color pink in honor of those who valiantly fight the disease. Wrangler, a major sponsor of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, launched the campaign in 2004 to promote breast cancer awareness. Bright pink flags, balloons and signs will dot Ogden Pioneer Stadium for our Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night. Breast cancer survivors who sign up for the event are recognized in the arena at the outset of the rodeo.

Pioneer Day State of Utah Holiday
Saturday, July 24

In 1934, at the height of the Great Depression, then-Ogden Mayor Harm Peery launched a summertime celebration to lift the spirits of northern Utah families. That tradition carries on today at Ogden Pioneer Days, which continues to honor the strength of a community that was forged by the heat of railroad steel. Each year, during the week of July 24, downtown Ogden comes alive with not only the spirit of Utah’s unique pioneer heritage, but the spark of future prosperity. Join us July 24 for the ride of the summer, a tradition that has withstood the test of time.
