Green Energy Robotics (Age 8-10)
*The event has already taken place on this date: Fri, 08/16/2024
This green thinking robotics class is designed to build and compete on several complex models. In addition to building different models daily, we will also introduce the concepts of converters from solar energy, wind energy and much more. We will build contraptions to understand the role technology plays in storing and measuring energy.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
We will design and build several fun-filled models such as a street sweeper, windmill, solar car, alien-walker, dog-bot and much more. Of course students will have their original designs too! Co-sponsored with Learning Through Robotics.
Learning Outcomes:
- Complex model building related to green energy
- Introduction to solar energy, wind energy and windmills
- Unit measurements and energy conversion
This engineering class is for those who design and build. Programming concepts are not covered. More details will be emailed the week before camp starts. If you are enrolled for Engineering & Simple Machines, do not sign up for this class. The equipment and some projects might be repetitive. No prior experience necessary.
