Engineering by Animals – $65
Explore some of nature’s greatest engineers with us as we look at animals that survive in their habitats through amazing adaptations and engineering! From large beaver dams, to small spider webs, animals have the art of design mastered! Campers will think like an animal engineer and get to meet some of the Zoo’s expert engineers!
Grades 3-5: March 25 & April 15, 2019 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Engineering from Animals – $65
How did people invent airplanes? Where did the idea for Velcro come from? Inspirations from nature of course! People look at animals and the natural world to solve engineering problems and create more efficient designs. Campers will explore biomimicry and design their own creations by looking at animals in this hands-on camp!
Grades 3-5: March 26 & April 16, 2019 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Engineering for Animals – Exhibit Design – $65
What goes into building an exhibit at the Zoo? What needs to be considered in order to make the perfect home for an animal? In this camp, kids will learn how the Zoo engineers exhibits for our animals and will create their own zoo exhibit design!
Grades 3-5: March 27 & April 17, 2019 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Engineering for Animals – Enrichment Design – $65
Join us at the Zoo as we enrich the lives of our animals through engineering! Campers will see examples of how the Zoo designs and builds enrichment items for our animals that are creative and safe. Campers will then design their own enrichment prototype!
