Great Salt Lake Investigations

Partner Camp with FRIENDS of Great Salt Lake

Join us for an adventurous week with staff from FRIENDS of GSL. From birding in Farmington Bay to swimming with brine shrimp at Antelope Island, each day we will go on an outdoor field trip to explore Great Salt Lake’s unique ecosystem. Along the way, we will practice science and art to learn about migratory birds, water quality, geology, and environmental stewardship. We are scientists, activists, and love being outside. Drop off and pick up takes place at NHMU. Transportation to field trip locations is provided. No camp on Friday.

Week 2 | June 24 – 27 | 8:30am – 4:30pm | $356 | Session is Full

Wild Utah! Session A

Partner Camp with Utah’s Hogle Zoo

Utah is home to many amazing animals and ecosystems! On Monday and Tuesday, campers will spend time at the Natural History Museum of Utah, exploring ecosystems from around the world, like the everglades and the Himalayas, and learning how they connect to the ones in our own backyards, like the Great Salt Lake and the Wasatch Mountains. On Wednesday and Thursday while at Utah’s Hogle Zoo, campers will explore Wild Utah!, the Zoo’s newest permanent area. This innovative space will provide campers an in-depth understanding of not only the animals, but also the creation of their habitats at the Zoo. Campers will come away with a deeper appreciation of, and stewardship for, Utah’s wildlife and world biomes. Drop off and pick up on Monday and Tuesday takes place at NHMU, on Wednesday and Thursday at Hogle Zoo.
