School Off Day Camp | Kids Out and About Salt Lake City

School Off Day Camp

Looking for something for your kids (ages 5-12) to do on their day off from school? We've got you covered. At HAWKs our experienced educators lead kids on hiking adventures in southeast Salt Lake. HAWKs is designed to keep kids present, engaged with their group, and connected to the natural world—without screens. Kids experience program days as games, discovery, and exploration with friends, not as a lesson, and that enjoyment is what makes the learning stick. We'll see you on trail!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Our experienced Educators are trained naturalists who know how to connect Explorers to the natural world in a fun and safe way and reveal the incredible biodiversity of our local environment.

Activities vary by day, environment and group interest, but include hiking, herping, bird watching, journaling, nature crafts (dream catchers, mandalas, seed bombs, insect hotels), nature-focused games, foraging, and more!

Our primarily outdoor day camps will encourage Explorer's sense of wonder about the natural world, familiarize them with local plants and animals, teach them the fundamentals of hiking, trail safety, and LNT (Leave No Trace), and instill in them a deep sense of connection to the outdoors.

Families Drop-off/Pick-up near Corner Canyon Regional Park for this day camp. All locations will be within our Southeast Salt Lake City Region. See our Region Map for examples of where we go!
