Queer Legacy of the Harlem Renaissance - University of Utah
*The event has already taken place on this date: Tue, 02/20/2024
The Harlem Renaissance, spanning the 1920’s, was a cultural, social and artistic movement centered in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City. This time period embraced the beautiful diversity within the black community and was a space and time where black queer artists could show up and express their authenticity through their artwork. From jazz music to paintings and poetry, we will be highlighting various modalities of artwork from the Harlem Renaissance throughout the day. We welcome everyone to join us in this celebration and education surrounding Black History.
