Discovery Class for 1st Graders: Rock Hounds

Dive into the fascinating world of geology with our hands-on rock and mineral exploration! Discover what rocks are made of, while exploring rock types and the rock cycle through engaging activities and examinations of various specimens. Start your own rock collection and learn how to identify and catalog your finds, becoming a true rock hound. Join us for a fun and educational adventure into the Earth’s treasures and deepen your appreciation for geology.
Please note: Online registration closes one week before the event. Pre-registration is required for these drop-off classes. You’ll receive an email with check-in location and further information 3-5 days prior to session.
Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your registration, email programs@nhmu.utah.edu with your child’s name and the confirmation/order number, no later than two weeks prior to the program start date/time. If we can fill your spot, you’ll receive a 90% refund. If we are unable to fill your spot, you’ll receive a 75% refund.
