THIS IS A PRE-RECORDED FACEBOOK PREMIERE EVENT.

Looking for some hands-on science fun this winter? Explore the high tech worlds of space exploration, robots, and flight with Captain Bob, aerospace educator! Discover how rockets and robots were created, how to defy gravity, what it's like to live in space, and more! Then create your own scientific replicas using materials found in your own home.

Free! For ages 6+. Watch one video or all five as many times as you would like until January 17, 2021. No registration necessary.

Rockets: Captain Bob discusses how rockets first began. You’ll see a movie about early rocket attempts as well as how rockets are used today to send people to space, then make your own paper rocket model!

Gravity: Ready for a down-to-Earth experience? Learn about gravity, and how much you weigh on the moon and each planet. Then make your very own ‘Anti-Gravity’ device!

Floating in Space: Captain Bob shows students what it’s like to live and work in space. Watch astronauts having fun on the International Space Station, and then make a space station model at home!

Flight: From kites, to the Wright Brothers, to jumbo jets; Captain Bob uses models to show students how flight first began. Then, go to the movies and see a film from early planes to modern jets. At the end of this episode, discover how to make the best paper airplanes.

Hot Air Balloons: Get ready for a very uplifting experience! Human flight began with the invention of balloons. Travel through time to meet the Montgolfier Brothers and then visit modern day balloon festivals. Captain Bob will then show you how to make a hot air balloon model.

Robots: See how early robots worked (and sometimes didn’t!); how robots are used in films and how they now explore Mars. Finally, make your very own Mars rover!
