Station Park is pleased to announce a new display honoring Utah’s fallen service members from May 25-May 28 organized by Operation Hero. Operation Hero is a local non-profit organization that was started in honor of 1SG Tracy Stapley, who passed away on July 3, 2013 in Qatar.   This display consists of a combat boot representing each service member from Utah that has passed away while in service since September 11, 2001 and are lined up in chronological order.  At current date, the display features 240 boots. Some boots have been personalized by the family of the service member by paintings, drawings, decorating with pins, and even messages. Each boot is displayed with an American Flag, branch flag, name tag, and some may have a picture. Families have been given the opportunity to do a brief bio of their loved one to share with you.

The Utah Fallen Service Members Boot Display shows the sacrifice that so many have given.  We would like to bring awareness to our state and community of our fallen, to educate the meaning of the blue and gold stars.  Most importantly to remember these brave men and women this Memorial Weekend and each day. The display will be featured in the space across from Old Navy. Visitors are encouraged to view the boots and read their stories. An opportunity to leave a message for family members of the fallen will also be available.

The Hero Display will be available for public viewing in the space across from Old Navy at the north end of the property.
