Mad Science Summer Camps are 3-hour day camps. Children ages 6-12 do hands-on science experiments with a specific theme for each camp. The program provides all the supplies participants will need for their on-site experiments and activities they can take home. Participants are encouraged to bring a snack and water bottle.
The daily themes for this camp will be as follows:
History Hunter - Dig for Dinosaurs! Learn the ins and outs of a paleontological dig and look for prehistoric treasure. Create your own amber capsule!
Can you dig it? - Study Some Skeletons! Learn about the shapes and functions of bones then solve the mystery of identifying an unknown creature from its remains! Unearth some bones and keep the skeleton!
Pieces of our Past - Assemble Artifacts! Learn the patterns that indicate how things break or decay over time. Hypothesize how unknown items were used and reconstruct a broken pot tot take home.
Buried Stories - Peruse the Past! Learn how objects can be preserved and recreate volcanic eruptions. Discover how scientists study ancient civilizations, then cast a replica of your own!
