Cells, plants, bones, animals, oh my! Nestle into this nifty navigation of natural science and you’ll find the fun growing on you.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Mad Science Summer Camps are 3-hour day camps.  Children ages 6-12 do hands-on science experiments with a specific theme for each camp.  The program provides all the supplies participants will need for their on-site experiments and activities they can take home.  Participants are encouraged to bring a snack and water bottle.

The daily themes for this camp will be as follows:

Bugs, Birds & Beasts  -  The things with feet have similarities that are neat!

Act out and analyze animal adaptation, mimic model mimicry, and catch their complex conversations.  Dissect an Owl Pellet and have a bone to pick with what you find inside!

Cell City - Ribosomes, lysosomes and ‘some more!

Get to the nucleus of the matter and see how small systems echo into the bigger picture.  Build your own Cell Model using a slimy simulation of cytoplasmic science!

Organ Trail -  Stow that covered wagon and get the insider scoop on your insides!  Discover what your organs do for you and paint a Personal Panorama of your proportional persona.

[Make] No Bones About It -  The neck bone’s connected to the elbow;  the elbow’s connected to the shin bone, the shin bone’s... wait, that’s not right!.  Piece together ostensible skeletons from osteometric clues and put your foot down with the Case Stamper kit.

There are other camps following this event at the same location.  Participants can register to stay in the interim period between the two camps for supervised activities to transition from one camp to the other even if they don’t register for both camps.  While this can be a lunch period Mad Science does not provide food or drinks of any kind, participants will need to have their own.

Registration for this camp is found through Canyons Community Education: entrada.revtrak.net

(entrada.revtrak.net/Community-Education/)  lists information for other camp programs through a scroll menu on the left-hand side of the window.  Each vendor calendar is listed by activity, not by date.
