Lamb and Wool Festival at Thanksgiving Point

Ongoing Activities:
SHEEP SHEARING – Join us for this annual favorite as our friend Bob shows us how he skillfully and painlessly separates a sheep from its heavy winter coat just in time for Spring. Ask questions and watch the entire shearing process from start to finish.
WOOL DYEING – Learn how fiber artists create beautiful yarns and wool products by coloring raw wool. Use Kool-Aid to dye some yarn you can then braid into a friendship bracelet.
GROW AND TELL – Different sheep and other animals produce different kinds of wool. Notice how different kinds of wool look and feel! Learn how farmers detangle wool, turn it to roving, and then spin it into yarn!
NEEDLE FELTING MURAL – Wool has many different uses. Besides clothing and blankets you can create art! Help us create a community art project using a needle felting technique and learn some fun facts about wool fibers and how they can lock together.
LAMB-O-VISION: Have you ever wondered how sheep know when a predator is nearby? Experience life through a sheep’s eyes and their almost 360-degree vision! See what you can notice all around you.
WOOL SPINNING -- Meet members from the Utah Spinning Guild and ask them questions. Watch them expertly use their tools to spin fiber magic!
