FREE Train Rides | Kids Out and About Salt Lake City

FREE Train Rides

Join us at Canyon Meadows Park (631 Petersen Pkwy, South Weber, Utah) June 17 for train rides around the park! The park offers a large space with lots of grass and a playground, trees for shade, and there are also public restrooms available. Bring your friends, family and a lunch and be ready for fun!

Be sure to join us the third Saturday of every month, from March to October, as the South Weber Model Railroad Club gives free train rides at Canyon Meadows Park in South Weber Utah! Donations are greatly appreciated to help expand the track and pay for maintenance and upgrades.

The city of South Weber has provided us a very nice park, please help us take care of it. We take pride in the cleanliness of the park; many hours are logged each week by train club members and city staff to keep the park clean and garbage free. Please help us leave it that way after the train rides. Climbing on the trees, damaging club property and city property will not be tolerated.

The entrance of the park has crossing arms, please yield to the arms when they are flashing or down, wait until the arms are straight up and the flashing lights have turned off before proceeding through. Trains entering the crossing are often hidden behind houses and drivers have weaved between the arms causing some close calls, especially when a second train is following close behind the first.

-All riders must keep arms and legs inside of the train cars at all times
-Do no grab or reach for anything along the track while on the train
-Do not lean, tip or rock the train car
-Sit on your bottom. Do not sit on your feet. Do not lean back. Do not lay down.
-All riders must face forward while on the train
-Stay seated until the train stops and the whistle is blown.

Remember all events are weather permitting.
