*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 11/02/2019
The Museum presents a Dia de Los Muertos celebration teeming with entertainment for all ages in partnership with Artes de México en Utah. Join us for traditional live music, dance, and spoken word performances, art-making, food trucks, and more on November 2, 2019.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Visit the galleries to see a masterwork by world-renowned Mexican artist Diego Rivera titled La ofrenda, a painting that depicts elements from the traditional Dia de los Muertos altar. Then, see a real life altar in the UMFA Café created by the Museum, Artes de Mexico, and community partners in honor of Mayan cultures.
Access to the altar and food trucks is free, and a $5 admission fee is required to enter the galleries and other activities. The altar will also be on view with free access on Sunday, November 3.
*Times, dates, and prices of any activity posted to our calendars are subject to change. Please be sure to click through directly to the organization’s website to verify.
