Join us for an "armchair" tour of the Emily Dickinson Museum in Amherst, Massachusetts. Home to 19th-century American poet Emily Dickinson, the Museum comprises two historic houses. You'll visit the Homestead where Dickinson was born in 1830, produced nearly 2,000 poems, and died in 1886. Next door you'll enjoy The Evergreens, an untouched victorian interior that was home to the poet's brother, beloved sister-in-law Susan, and their children. Through this illustrated talk your guide will transport you into the very rooms where Dickinson found her inspiration, and along the way you'll learn about the poet and her family's daily life through her own words.

Anna Plummer has been working at the Emily Dickinson Museum since 2015 and is a poet and historic house enthusiast. Recently, she has enjoyed sharing her research on Susan Davis Phelps, a little-known friend of Emily Dickinson, in article form on The Porter-Phelps-Huntington Museum website and as a guest speaker for the Amherst Woman’s Club. She has also presented her research on Emily Dickinson and Amherst College in a special thematic tour for the Museum. She holds a B.A. in English and Theater & Dance from Amherst College.

FREE! Registration is required.
