Join an international quest to record urban nature!
Cities across the world are competing to document their urban nature between April 26 and April 29 in the City Nature Challenge 2019. Join the Natural History Museum of Utah at the Fred and Ila Rose Fife Wetland Preserve on the Jordan River on Saturday, April 27, between 10:00 am and 1:00 p.m. for a City Nature Challenge biobltiz. All the observations you make will count toward the City Nature Challenge AND help guide the management of the wetland preserve.
Stop by at your convenience. Our headquarters will be located at approximately 950 South 1100 West in Salt Lake City. Limited parking is available. Click here to see the headquarters location in Google Maps. All program activities will be provided in Spanish and English. All ages and abilities welcome.
What do I need to bring?
Bring your mobile device. If you don't have a mobile device, we'll have some on hand you can check out. If possible, download the iNaturalist app and set up your account before you arrive. If you need help getting set up, we'll be happy to assist you at the event.
Long pants, closed-toe shoes, a water bottle, and sunscreen will help keep you safe and comfortable. You may want a day pack, jacket, or hat. Feel free to bring your favorite field guide to plants, birds, insects, etc.
What else will there be to do at this event?
We'll have hands-on nature activities for kids plus snacks and water for all to enjoy.
