PowerChess Summer Camps are geared towards students who have, at a minimum, an understanding of chess piece movement, basic mating patterns, and a LOVE for everything chess. Students who have completed the PowerChess FUNdamentals class are at a perfect level to continue their progression with our summer camp offerings. Students will continue to grow in their mastery of the FUNdamentals of chess and build upon these ideas and skills in a positive, supportive learning environment.
Camp size is limited to 18 participants
PowerChess Summer Camp Schedule will include the following activities:
- Chess instruction - Tactical patterns, checkmating patterns, middle games ideas, and much more from trained PowerChess Coaches and USCF Candidate Master Powell Walker
- Tournament-length chess games
- Goal setting
- Blitz games
- How to improve chess study habits
- Practice playing positions against other students
- Puzzle-solving contests
