At Bernie camp, we provide a nurturing, enriched day camp experience that celebrates the vitality of childhood. Here, every camper and staff member feels a deep sense of belonging to our community and our Jewish values. Campers build community and personal integrity through group activities, challenges, sports, arts, Jewish identity, and cultural exposure. Not Jewish? No problem - everyone is welcome!
Basic Camp Information:
- Bernie Camp runs 11 weeks: June 7 - August 20, 2021
- Camp is offered in three sessions as follows: Session 1 (June 7 - July 2); Session 2 (July 5 - 30); Session 3 (August 2 - 20)
- Bernie Camp is divided into groups organized by rising grade and focus activities
- Descriptions of each camp group are provided on our website slcjcc.org/camp
- Bernie Camp Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday - Thursday; 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM on Friday
- Extended Care is available on a limited basis. Extended Care hours are 7:30 - 8:00 AM and 4:00 - 6:00 PM Monday - Thursday; 7:30 - 8:00 AM and 3:00 - 6:00 PM on Fridays
- Drop Off & Pick Up is on the JCC campus
- March 22 - JCC Member Registration
- April 5 - Public Registration
Please Note: Field trips for all Bernie Camp groups in 2021 will feature outdoor activities and adventures. Each Bernie Camp group will have a designated den within the JCC and groups will not share their den spaces all summer. Campers and staff will wear masks at all times, except to eat. Campers will eat lunch outdoors. Groups will come together outdoors for group activities, and outdoor group size will be limited by health department guidelines. Swimming is being considered and we will swim if pandemic conditions allow.
