Library systems across Salt Lake County are uniting for the second-annual United We Read SLC campaign. United We Read SLC, a partnership of Murray Library, Salt Lake City Public Library, Salt Lake County Library, and Utah Humanities, is an initiative for everyone in Salt Lake County to connect by reading the same book and by sharing their experiences with others.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

The selection for 2018 is The Book of Unknown Americans by award-winning author Cristina Henríquez. Henríquez is visiting the County Library's Viridian Event Center on January 17 to discuss The Book of Unknown Americans and to kick off the 2018 United We Read SLC campaign. Books are available for checkout from all libraries and will be available for purchase and signing at the event from The Printed Garden.

Discussions and events will be held January through March at various locations across the county, and are detailed online and on the United We Read SLC Facebook page. Additionally, local independent bookstores The Printed Garden and The King’s English will be selling The Book of Unknown Americans at a discounted rate during the campaign.
