The Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah will hold a free community celebration from 9:30-11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9. The family-friendly festivities mark the Tour of Utah's 10th anniversary and will be held outside of Rice-Eccles Stadium.

 

The Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah will hold a free community celebration from 9:30-11 a.m. on Saturday, August 9. The family-friendly festivities mark the Tour of Utah's 10th anniversary and will be held outside of Rice-Eccles Stadium prior to the start of the Tour of Utah Stage 6 presented by University of Utah Health Care.

 

Children ages 6-12 can ride their bicycles on the official Tour of Utah course. The University of Utah Health Care Kids Sprint to the Finish will take place in the Kids Zone. Parents or guardians can register their children (with bike helmets) at the University of Utah Health Care booth. All participants receive prizes, Nature Valley Granola Bars and chocolate milk provided by Meadow Gold.

 

Other highlights of the Kids Zone and Start Line include:

 

  • First 500 fans receive free commemorative,10-year anniversary cinch sacks from the Tour of Utah booth

  • Interact with the NBA’s best mascot Jazz Bear

  • Meet Bumble, the mascot of the Salt Lake Bees baseball team, who will be handing out ticket vouchers for upcoming games

  • Register kids (ages 6-12) for free Sprint to the Finish bicycle ride at the UUHC booth

  • Experience mechanical bull ride and obstacle course courtesy of the Utah National Guard

  • Ride a Strider bike in the demonstration area provided by Scheels

  • Get free signatures and photos of your favorite pro cyclists at Autograph Alley

  • Listen to live interviews of the professional cyclists with race announcers Dave Towle and Brad Sohner from the main stage

  • Watch the official ceremonies for the race start and cheer on the peloton when it departs
